damage limitation

An avalanche event that can threaten our living space usually takes years to build up and involves a wide range of factors.

The Snowgripper system offers a way of counteracting this event in a very natural way for little technical and financial output, from the very moment the problem becomes known.

Wind: Snowgrippers influence the local wind field. So-called craters form around the individual structures. The homogeneous snow cover is disturbed by them and the parallel snow pressures on slopes are reduced to a minimum. Snow movements are also counteracted.

Sun: the aluminium Snowgrippers protruding from the snow heat up quickly and give this energy off into their surroundings. The craters are reduced in size and freeze into a honeycomb structure as temperatures drop, with the result that the entire snow cover is stabilised.

Snow: in every snow layer, depending on slope angle, exposure, ground roughness and other components, there are forces that are absorbed by the Snowgripper. The snow layer is compressed by its special and patented ship’s bow shape.
